What is this Program?

First we will schedule a time to come onsite and gather pictures and detailed information of your roof such as the status of missing or broken slates, the condition of roof caps, any roof valleys, snow belts, chimneys, etc. Then we review this information and will provide you with a copy of the inspection report providing pictures and an overall health review of your slate roof. We will also keep a copy of this report on file to compare it to future reports and keep an eye on any deteriorating areas or other problems. Now armed with this knowledge, we can move forward with strategic plans. If your roof does have areas of concern, we can work with you to quote and schedule these repairs. If you have another contractor you want to use, we can share this information with them.

How much does it cost to enroll?

There is no cost to enroll in the Slate Roof Inspection Program. You choose the frequency on how often you want an inspection done. We suggest annual inspections to keep on top of winter damage, necessary repairs and leak prevention, aging elements of your roof, and updating long-term maintenance plans.

The fee for inspections starts at $350.00. Larger commercial buildings and properties outside Chittenden County, VT cost more. If you choose to hire us to perform any subsequent repairs to your roof, the inspection fee will be credited against the repairs.

What do I get?

• Periodic roof inspections and subsequent reports. Comprehensive reports on your roofing system to include a review of your slate roof condition, metal flashing, cap, valleys, and chimneys.
• Any quotes for needed repairs requested by you.
• Access to the Blackrock team! When you join the Slate Roof Inspection Program and become one of our Preferred Customers, you have a relationship with the Blackrock team. We know that contractors of all types and especially specifically contractors are hard to find and hard to schedule. We prioritize repairs and respond to emergency repairs for our Preferred Customers.
